With something for the thrill-seekers and the fitness-focused alike, the civic center will truly be a beacon of change in the community. Every member (age 16 and older) of the Lenexa Rec Center receives one free wellness assessment conducted by a certified personal trainer. The Public Market features a variety of local food and non-food merchants, a common area. It is part of the civic campus at Lenexa City Center, which includes City Hall, Lenexa Rec Center, the outdoor seasonal Lenexa Farmers Market, and the Lenexa City Center Library. We bring together diverse merchants that offer fresh foods and locally sourced, handcrafted products. The multi-generational design encourages play for all family members in various areas of the facility. The Lenexa Public Market is owned and operated by the City of Lenexa. The Lenexa Public Market is an 11,000-square-foot food hall and market. The spirit of the facility and this design was to entice young families to join the community. Truly, there is something for everyone here. The project resulted in four different public spaces across campus including City Hall with chamber and public market, the recreation center with an aquatic.
